Staten Island, N.Y. - Defending-champion Georgian Court University came up just short of a repeat as the Lions placed second-overall in Saturday's East Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet. The GCU women tallied 102 points, trailing only eventual-champion Holy Family University (107 points) in the event hosted by the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Rachel Pausz, a senior accounting major, earned the ECC Elite 19 award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA competing in each of the conference's 19 championships. Pausz sports a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Julia Kirschnick established a new program record in the Pole Vault for the third time this season by clearing a height of 3.50 meters.
Aniyah Russell, heading to the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships next month, topped all-comers in the Long Jump with a leap of 5.78 meters.
