West Babylon, N.Y. - The East Coast Conference announced earlier this week that Georgian Court University's Jan Volkmar had been named the ECC Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet's Most Outstanding Male Athlete after scoring in three different events, leading the Lions to their third-consecutive indoor crown last month.

The freshman from Eschwege, Germany shattered the meet record in winning the pole vault with a mark of 4.78m. Volkmar also placed fifth in the 60m hurdles (8.88) and sixth in the shot put (12.99m) to score in three different events.

Overall, no less than 17 Lions earned All-Conference finishes at the championship meet. The top two finishers in each event landed on the All-ECC First Team, while the third and fourth place finishers earned Second Team recognition.
