BETHPAGE, N.Y. (Sept. 3, 2022) - Georgian Court Cross Country got underway this weekend competing at the Adelphi Panthers Invitational. Both the men and the women finished in sixth place.
The women started the afternoon running a 5K.
Amirah Beasley led the squad finishing in 22:34.6, good for 17th place overall.Â
All six runners finished in the top-half in the 99-person race. Behind Beasley was
Ashlee Pataky in 26th place running 23:11.4 and
Brenna Sullivan in 36th place at 23:36.2.
Madalin Jones (24:39.2),
Selma Cazimoska (24:56.0), and
Niya Barden (25:18.4) all finished within seven places of each other. Jones placed 43rd, Cazimoska 45th and Barden 49th.
Adelphi was the team winner in the 14 team race. Jaquelynn Sheedy was the individual champion, crossing the line in 19:21.6.
The Lion men ran as a pack with all eight runners finishing within 25 places of each other.
Kyle Spector led the way taking 23rd place. He completed the 8K course in 27:59.3.Â
William Spector (28:20.7),
Alec Valle (28:26.4),
Joseph Jamolawicz (28:28.5) and
Dylan Navarro (28:42.5) all ran together and finished consecutively in 29th-32nd place.
Riley Keffer (29:07.3) and
Kevin Knoetig (29:10.3) also placed back-to-back in 40th and 41st place, just three second apart. The team was rounded out by
Thomas Rosky in 45th place running 29:40.4 and
Charli Dominguez in 48th place running 29:59.6.
East Stroudsburg was the team champion on the men's side with 27 points. Isaac Clark from USMMA paced the 168-person field running 26:18.4.
Both cross country squads are back in action next Saturday, Sept. 10 in Philadelphia at the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championships, hosted by Jefferson.Â
