Women's Soccer To Play Under the Lights at Molloy

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Oct. 3, 2023) - Georgian Court Women's Soccer finishes up their nonconference schedule tomorrow evening on Long Island.

Previously vs. Molloy
• This is the ninth all-time meeting between the two Lion teams.
• Georgian Court hasn't won since 2007 as Molloy is unbeaten in the last six matches.
• All-time Molloy leads the series 4-1-3.
• Aside from 2020, the teams have met each year for five straight years, during which Molloy is 3-0-2.
• A year ago the teams played to a 2-2 draw in Lakewood.
• GCU go out early with a goal from Krystal Hund in the 17th minute.
• Molloy scored two in quick succession and led 2-1 at the break.
• That's how the score remained until Hund found the equalizer with just 90 seconds left in the match.
Carley Polchak played the final 45 minutes making six saves without allowing a goal. 

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court was on offense much of the match last weekend at Post as they rattled off 14 shots and put nine on target.
• Post totaled just eight total shots and tested the Lion keepers just four times.
• GCU also logged seven corner kicks while Post earned just four.
• Foul numbers were low with 11 combined whistles and no cards issued.
• Post scored first off of a throw in down by the Lions goal. The ball bounced around before Lydia Asamoah got a touch to chip it in.
• Midway through the second, Ashley Merizalde caused a turnover, found some space and tied the game with her second goal of the season. 
• The match ended 1-1 with the Eagles not registering another shot on goal.

• Ashley Merizalde has points in three of her last four games and now leads the team in points.
Emma Bennett came in for the final 45 minutes against Post and didn't allow a goal. 
Breana Parkinson picked up her first assist of the season last weekend.

• Like Georgian Court, Molloy has played to their fair share of draws this season. They are 3-2-4 overall and lead the ECC at 2-0-1.
• In the latest United Soccer Coaches Regional Rankings, Molloy ranks 10th in the East Region.
• The Lions are getting the job done defensively, allowing just one goal per game.
• Elyse Munoz has started six of nine games. She's allowed just four goals with an 82.6% save percentage. 
• Offensively, the Lions have relied on Caitlin Kennedy and Olivia Ingenito. They both are in double-figures for points and have scored five goals each.
