LAKEWOOD, NJ (Feb. 21, 2023) - This afternoon the College Sports Communications (CSC) released their 2023 Men's Basketball Academic All-District Team. Georgian Court had a pair of seniors make this year's squad in Titus Beard and Shane Williams. 

The All-District awards, selected by the CSC, recognize top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to be eligible academically, student-athletes must carry a GPA of 3.50 or greater and be in at least the second year at the current institution. Current graduate student transfers are eligible in their first year. Athletically, student-athletes must be a starter or primary reserve and have competed in at least 50% of the team's contests. 

Beard and Williams are the first members of Lions Basketball to ever earn the CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District award. 

Titus Beard is a senior from Willingboro, NJ. He currently has a 3.59 GPA in Criminal Justice. This season, Beard has played in 16 games making 12 starts. He's averaging 24 minutes per game and shooting 34% from the field. Beard is scoring 3.7 points per game for the Lions with 2.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contests. For his career, Beard is in the Lions all-time top-five in total assists.

Shane Williams is also a four-year Lion. He currently holds a 3.76 GPA in Business Administration. The senior from Brick, NJ has played in all 26 games this season making a career-high 23 starts. He's scoring 6.0 points per game shooting 38.4% overall and 31.9% from behind the arc. He's second on the team grabbing 4.7 rebounds per game and second with 14 blocks. All-time Williams is in the GCU top-five in rebounds and assists and is two points away from entering the top-10 in scoring.

Beard and Williams are now eligible for the CSC Academic All-American team which will be announced in March.
