NEW YORK (April 17, 2025) - For the first time in program history, Georgian Court Men's Basketball placed a student-athlete on the Metropolitan Basketball Writer's Association Division II Men's Basketball Team.
Cam Edmonds made the 2025 All-Met First Team.
The All-Met Division II Men's Basketball Team was selected by members of the Met basketball Writer's Association, which covers teams in the New York Metropolitan and surrounding areas.
Edmonds was named to the CACC First Team and the D2CCA All-Region Second Team. He was the first Lions Basketball player to make an All-Region Team.Â
Edmonds had an outstanding season, leading the league averaging 23.8 points per game which ranked eighth nationally. Following the regular season, Edmonds also scored the second-most free throws in the country, leading the CACC. After the NCAA Championship, Edmonds finished sixth in the country in made free throws.Â
Edmonds broke three GCU scoring record; most points in a single season, 572, season scoring average, 23.8, and most points in a single game, 48.Â
Not only did Edmonds lead GCU and the CACC in points per game, he finished leading the team in rebounds per game, assists and steals. Edmonds is one of just three players in the CACC to be in the top-20 in points, rebounds, assists and steals. He was named the CACC Player of the Week three times and the Metropolitan Basketball Writer's Association Division II Player of the Week following his 48 point game against Goldey-Beacom.Â
Edmonds final numbers for the season saw him scoring 23.8 points per game in 23 games played. He scored in double-figures in each game during the season, reaching 20 points 16 times, 30 points seven times and 40 points three times. He's one of just two NCAA Division II player this season to score 40 points three times.Â
He's one of just six from the CACC to make the All-Met Team and one of three on the First Team.
