PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (Oct. 27, 2024) - Georgian Court Cross Country competed Sunday morning in the 2024 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship meet. On the men's side, GCU took sixth place among nine teams while the Lion women placed seventh in a 10-team field.
The men's 8K race started off the day. Georgian Court totaled 123 points for their sixth-place finish.Â
Nolan Kus led the Lions running 27:38.6 for a fourth-place finish and earned a spot on the All-CACC team. Joseph Jamolawicz finished just outside the top-20 in 21st place with his time of 29:25.7.
Ryan Pettrow and
Matthew Schaub finished a couple of spots apart. Pettrow ran 30:26.6 for 31st place and Schaub was 34th in 30:30.5.
Colin Broadbelt was the fifth runner of the Lions in 40th place running 31:01.7 and
Luke McCormick completed the field for GCU in 46th place with a time of 32:07.7
Wilmington was the team champions with 49 total points. Tilak Datta was the individual champion running 26:14.8.
The Lion women scored 190 points for their seventh place team spot in the 5K race.Â
Amirah Beasley repeated as an All-CACC performer with her 12th place finish running 21:19.2.
Madalin Jones was 35th in 23:52.4. The next four Lions all finished within six places.
Brenna Sullivan and
Jurnee Tuttle were back-to-back in 46th and 47th place. Sullivan ran 25:57.7 and Tuttle 26:31.3.
Samantha Lonseth and
Kerry Ann Hohenshilt were 50th and 51st with Lonseth crossing the line in 27:09.4 and Hohenshilt in 27:13.7. Julisa Sanchez Ponce wrapped things up for GCU running 34:15.6 for 61st place.Â
Jefferson placed seven runners in the top-11 and won the team championship with 27 points. The Rams' Ana Eshraghi was the individual champion running 20:15.3, just edging out Sydney Watts of Chestnut Hill by 0.8 seconds.Â
