STATEN ISLAND, NY (Feb. 23, 2024) - For the final time Georgian Court Track and Field competed on the indoor track. The Last Chance meet lived up to it's name for a number of athlete's who set lifetime bests, moved up the GCU all-time top-10 and even set a new school record.
Distance
• Another school record fell and again it was done by
Kyle Spector. This time in the mile where Spector ran 4:20.31 to set a new school record. He finished 10th in the even.
•
Joe Jamolawicz also hit a personal-best in the mile. He ran 4:48.57 for 41st place.
Max Salgado-Vidal was 46th in 5:04.71.
• All three Lion 800m runners set major personal-bests. Starting with the women,
Amirah Beasley ran 2:20.19 to finish in 13th place. That's a three-second PR for her.

Madalin Jones finished in 31st place running 2:40.29 which is s seven-second personal-best.
•
Ryan Pettrow became just the third Lion to ever run sub-2:00 indoors. He finished in 23rd running 1:59.55 which is nearly a five-second personal-best.
Throws
• Although they finished in the top-10 overall,
Robbie Babson and
Malicah Etienne came up a bit short of hitting the NCAA qualifying mark in the shot put. Babson took third overall throwing 51-6.5.
• Etienne finished seventh with his toss of 47-3.75 which he hit on his first attempt.
• For the women,
Ingrid Rivera-Zuniga had a personal-best in the shot put. She threw 32-7.25 for a ninth-place finish.
• In the weight throw,
Anthony Lorenzo threw nearly two feet further than his lifetime best. He threw 42-3 to take fifth place in the event.
• Also in the top-10 in the women's weight throw was
Chiamaka Wokocha. She was sixth throwing throwing a big personal-best 42-9. That came on her final throw of the day where she extended her best mark of the afternoon by more nearly two feet.

Sabrina Halk finished in 14th place in the weight at 29-10.
Sprints
• Three Lion women ran the 60m dash. Senior
Aaliyah Thorpe, running her first ever 60m race for the Lions finished in ninth place with a time of 8.57.
•
Molly Burns, also running the 60m for the first time took 14th in 8.70.
Samantha Lonseth placed 21st in 9.10.
• Burns also ran at 200m finishing 58th in 28.29, which is a personal-best.
•
Wayne Robinson competed for the men at 200m. He took 41st place running 23.30.
• At 400m,
Seth Powell improved upon his personal-best running 51.96 or 22nd place.
James McCoy was 47th in 54.64.
• Two Lions also ran in the women's 400m.
Niya Barden was 21st in 1:03.45.
Selma Cazimoska 30th in 1:10.53.
Georgian Court will now prepare for the outdoor season. They'll have nearly a full month before their next competition. They'll take to the track again Friday, March 23 at Stockton.
