Women's Basketball Closes Homestand vs. Post

LAKEWOOD, NJ (Jan. 17, 2025) - Georgian Court Women's Basketball finishes up a season-long four game home stand Saturday afternoon with a CACC cross-division rival.

Previously vs. Post
• Georgian Court and Post have a long history with Post holding a 25-20 all-time record over the Lions.
• That includes a current eight-game winning streak over GCU. The Lions last win over the Eagles came January 7, 2017 in Waterbury.
• All-time at home, Georgian Court is 12-11 against Post.
• Last season in Waterbury it was the third quarter that doomed the Lions. They trailed by seven at the half, but Post extended the lead outscoring the Lions 28-12 in the third.
• Georgian Court made it closer with a 25-point fourth quarter, but fell in the end, 75-62.
Imani Gillette had a 22-point, 14-rebound double-double.

Last Time Out
• Georgian Court hung with the CACC South Division leading Holy Family Tigers for about 30 minutes.
• With 2:43 to go in the third, the game was tied at 39. The Tigers though outscored the Lions 9-1 for the remainder of the third and then 19-7 in the fourth for a 67-47 win.
Niyell McCargo had a career-night going 9-18 for 20 points and grabbing eight rebounds.

• Tyra Lovelock's 2.1 assists per game are in the top-20 and her 4.0 in CACC games is sixth. 
• Karissa Smedley is 15th in steals per game while Samantha Jones is 15th in blocks per game. 
• Julia Whesper is fourth in conference game shooting 59.1% and Karissa Smedley fourth in three-point percentage at 46.2%. 
• The Lions are averaging 19.9 bench points per game, third-most in the CACC.
