Fort Lauderdale, FL.(Nov.29, 2025) - The Lions trip to Florida wrapped up with their game against Nova Southeastern, where they suffered a loss of more than 30 points.
1st Half
• The first five minutes of the game were not indicative of how the rest of the game would go for GCU; in fact, the Lions led for a good portion of the first quarter.
• The sharks went on a 11-3 run to end the first quarter.
• Offensively the Sharks took control in the second quarter.
Markayla Holland scored eight of her 12 in this quarter.
• The Lions managed only 11 points in the quarter. The Sharks went 8-for-22 in the second, while the Lions attempted just nine shots, finishing 4-for-9.
• Going into the half, the Lions trailed 23-43.
2nd Half
• It was a rough start to the third quarter for the Lions, as they didn't score until
Amyah Bray broke the drought with a layup five minutes in.
• Because of this scoring drought, the Sharks extended their lead to 30 points in the third quarter.
• The Lions struggled to capitalize on their offensive opportunities this quarter, going 4 for 18 and shooting 22.2%, while Nova converted 10 of 20 shots for 50%.
• The fourth quarter was the closest, with Nova scoring 13 points to GCU's 12, but the Sharks still defeated the Lions 81-45.
