Another Great Day on the Track for Georgian Court TF

GALLOWAY, NJ (March 29, 2025) - Georgian Court Track and Field is off to a scintillating start through the first two meets of the outdoor season. The Lions had such success last week at the Stockton Invite, they went back this week for the Stockton Osprey Open and again saw outstanding performances across the board.

Sprints/Hurdles
• Jewel Pierrecharles was the winner of both the 100m and 200m dash. She ran 13.25 for the 100m and 26.73 for 200m. It was her first 100m race as a Lion and her fastest 200m race, besting her times from the indoor season.
• Leela McConnnel ran both sprints as well taking seventh in the 200m running an outdoor personal-best 28.61 and was ninth at 100m in 14.00.
• Molly Burns set a pair of personal-bests in the 200m and 400m. She was third in teh 400m with a personal-best by more than a full second in 1:03.29. She also set an outdoor PR in the 200m running 27.98 to finish fourth overall. 
• Tishanna Cohen ran her first 400m hurdle race as a Lion. She took fifth in 1:18.22. 
• On the men's side, it was the quarter-milers who shined. Wayne Robinson ran 49.66 for second place. He was also eighth in the 200m at 22.91.
• Brandon Rudder set personal-bests at both 400m and 200m. He was also third in both events as well. He ran 22.24 for 200m which is third all-time at GCU and entered the top-10 list at No. 8 in the 400m running 50.65.
• Also setting PR's in both 200m and 400m races was James McCoy. He was eighth in the 400m running 52.12 and 14th running 23.50 for 200m.
• Marcos Murillo-Benavides took fourth in the 400m race running 51.57 which is a personal-best by more than 1.5 seconds. He ran his first ever 200m at GCU as well and was 12th in 23.34.
• Nick Jordan was the Lions only 100m runner. He took 14th in 11.89. Jordan came back with a PR in the 200m running 23.72 for 16th place. 

Throws
• The throws events happened over the course of Friday and Saturday and GCU had event winners on both days.
• The Lions went 1-2-3 in the javelin Friday night. Ava Reardon was the event winner throwing 115-9 with Adrianna Fodera second in 104-1 and Julianna Dogostino third in 104-1 as well. Those are season-best marks for both Fodera and Dogostino. 
• Friday also saw the hammer throw competition, won by Chiamaka Wokocha. She set a massive personal-best throwing 146-2 which is seventh all-time at Georgian Court.
• The Lions put four in the top-10 with Sabrina Halk taking fourth at 122-3 which is also a personal-best by nearly 10 feet. Kaydence Fischer was sixth at 119-4 and Fodera 8th at 114-10.
• Mark Linton got off just one legal throw Friday in the men's hammer throw. It flew 140-2 and was good enough for second place. 
• Anthony Lorenzo was fourth at 122-11 and Guius Dabney seventh at 101-7, a season-best.
• Fischer had two more top-five finishes Saturday. She was second in the discus throwing 137-8 which moves her to third all-time at GCU. She also took third in the shot put throwing 35-6. 
• Wokocha also moved up the all-time top-10 list in the discus throwing 123-10, her second PR of the meet. That was good for third in the competition and she's now ninth in GCU history.
• Fodera finished second in the shot put at 36-0.75 while Hald was fifth in the discus at 110-6.
• GCU had winners in both the men's shot put and discus Saturday. Robbie Babson won the shot throwing 51-10.5. He took eighth in the discus at 118-4.
• Malicah Etienne was the winner of the discus throwing 166-9 which is an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. Etienne threw 51-4.5 in the shot put for second place.
• Linton threw another season-best in the discus and moved to fifth all-time with his mark of 159-10. Thomas Menegus was 14th in the event throwing 110-4.
• The Lions had three more in the top-10 in the shot put. Guius Dabney set a season-best throwing 42-4.25 for fourth place. Anthony Lorenzo was fifth at 41-11.5 and Thomas Menegus eighth at 39-10.

Jumps
• GCU won both the men's and women's triple jump Friday night. Tishanna Cohen just 34-9 to claim victory on the women's side. Jewel Pierrecharles was third jumping 33-10.25.
• On the men's side, the was Matthew Sutton. He jumped a personal-best 42-9 for the win. 
• Ivan Ramos-Lopez and Sean Donnamaria went 1-2 in the pole vault and each set outdoor personal-bests in the process. Ramos-Lopez cleared 12-11.5 and Donnamaria jumped 12-5.5.
• Juliana Dogostino had a big PR jump in the high jump. She got over the bar at 4-11.5 for third place.
• Julian Rodriguez was also third in the men's high jump. He cleared 5-8.75.

Distance
• Starting on Friday with the 10,000m where both Joe Jamolawicz and Nolan Kus hit CACC qualifiers. Jamolawicz was fifth running 35:09.81 and Kus sixth in 35:40.76. Those times put Jamolawicz and Kus third and fourth all-time at GCU.
• Kus wasn't finished though. He also ran the 5,000m Saturday taking ninth place in 16:24.04 and moved to eighth all-time at GCU. 
• Amirah Beasley won another 800m race. She ran 2:24.45. Also running the 800m were Jurnee Tuttle and Kerry Ann Hohenshilt who each set huge personal-bests in the event. Tuttle was seventh running 2:38.56 and Hohenshilt 10th in 2:58.74. 
• Brenna Sullivan ran her first ever 1500m race and was 11th in 6:28.33. 
• Ryan Pettrow attempted the 800m/1500m double Saturday. He was second in both events running 2:02.61 for 800m and 4:12.13 for 1500m.
• Zachary Spoonire had a top-five finish at 800m running 4:16.30 for fifth place. Matthew Schaub was 17th in 4:35.62 and Luke McCormick 17th in 4:45.20.
• Abdullah Brown stepped up to the 800m. He ran 2:25.14 for 15th place. 

Next weekend Georgian Court is in action once again for another two-day meet. They'll be in Collegeville, PA for the Ursinus Track and Field Festival April 4-5.
