NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 4, 2025) - Georgian Court senior
Robbie Babson finishes off his career as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of May.
The award goes to a student-athlete who demonstrates success in competition during the month, while also being a standout in the classroom and giving back to his community.
Babson, from Toms River, NJ, was crowned CACC Champion in the shot put and hammer throw last month at the conference meet. It was his fourth shot put title and third in the hammer throw. He also set a CACC meet record on his championship-winning throw in the shot put.Â
Babson hit the NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the shot put and was named a USTFCCCAÂ All-East Region team member in the event. He competed in the shot put in eight meets during the outdoor season and was top-two in all eight and won the event six times.Â
In the classroom, Babson is graduating with a 3.44 GPA as a Business Administration major. He was a President's Level honoree on the CACC Academic Honor Roll. He's active as well in Georgian Court community service initiatives and has continually helped local families in need through Georgian Court.Â
The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out from September to May each academic year. It recognizes one student-athlete from any sport active during that month. Babson is the final selection for 2024-25 and the first Lion to win the award this year.Â
