NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 29, 2025) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer junior Gijs van Eif helped lead the Lions to a win and a tie last week. He scored five goals in the Lions 3-3 draw with Roberts Wesleyan and their 5-0 win at Daemen.

Van Eif, an All-Region performer last season had his biggest week of the 2025 season. Against the Redhawks on Thursday, he scored twice in the first half of a 3-3 draw. Those two goals came on five shots with four on target. He then outdid himself two days later scoring a hat trick against Daemen. Again he scored twice in the first half and added one in the second for good measure. His first two came in the first 6:04 of the game. It's not only a record for the fastest two goals to start a game by a single player, but the fastest two goals to start a game in Lions history. He became just the third Lion to record a hat trick and it was the seventh in the history of the program.

This is the first CACC Player of the Week award for van Eif in his career. The All-CACC First Team selection was a Rookie of the Week back in 2023, but has not been awarded a Player of the Week award before this. 

He'll look to carry that momentum into a busy week ahead. GCU is home Wednesday as they return to conference play to take on Chestnut Hill. They're also home Saturday for Homecoming against Caldwell.
