Two Big Innings Spell Trouble For Georgian Court

JACKSON, NJ (March 21, 2026) - Georgian Court Baseball let a couple innings get away from them and that proved to be the difference in a sweep against Holy Family. Once in each game the Tigers scored eight in an inning and although the Lions mounted a comeback in game two, they couldn't get over the hump falling 12-1 and 10-7.

Game 1 - Holy Family 12, Georgian Court 1 (7 Innings)
How it Happened

• Holy Family collected 12 runs on 15 hits. The Lions scored a run on just three hits.
• Walks were a plenty. The Lions walked six times and Holy Family seven.
• Georgian Court couldn't get a hit with runners on. They stranded eight.
• The beginning of the game saw the Lions make four errors. The Tigers scored just one unearned run. HFU made one error in the field.
• Holy Family got a run in the opening inning. The Lions committed three errors in the frame, two on one play which allowed the Tigers to grab a 1-0 lead.
• The Tigers added another run in the second, but should have had more. They had five consecutive hits at one point, but only scored one run. That's because of a batted ball that hit a runner on the bases and a caught stealing to end the inning.
JR Osmond got one run back leading off the bottom of the inning. He hit a long home run to left for the first of his career to make it a 2-1 game.
• Holy Family again took advantage of the Lions defense. They scored two more in the fourth, one un earned as a throwing error rolled down right field and allowed a run to score all the way from first.
• The Tigers broke the game open in the seventh. They scored eight runs, doing a lot of damage without a hit. They scored two on bases-loaded walks and a third on a sacrifice fly.
• Three run-scoring hits brought in the rest and the Tigers upped their lead to 12-1.

Lion Stat Leaders
JR Osmond drove in the Lions only run with a home run.
Donovan Gevers got the start on the mound. He went the first six innings and allowed six runs, five earned while striking out two.
Arian Lunar reached twice on two walks.
Jack Osmond and Jack Greenspan each finished 1-2.

For the Tigers
• Nick Lombardo singled, doubled twice and drove in three runs.
• Griffin Richardson went 3-4 with two runs and two RBI.
• Logan Mote wasn't retired collecting three singles and a walk.
• Jephson Hadson-Taylor scored three times finishing 2-3.
• Jordan Sesar got the win throwing six innings allowing one run while striking out seven and walking six.

Game 2 - Holy Family 10, Georgian Court 7 (7 Innings)
How it Happened

• Georgian Court nearly mounted a tremendous comeback, trailing by as much as eight and getting the go-ahead run on base, but the big hit eluded them as the Tigers hung on.
• The Lions outhit Holy Family 8-7. That includes four extra-base hits.
• GCU's struggles on the mound came in the form of nine walks. They also allowed an unearned run.
• Georgian Court put the ball in play, striking out just one time. GCU pitchers fanned three.
• It didn't take long for Holy Family to grab a commanding lead. After a scoreless first, the Tigers scored eight in the second. Again, taking advantage of walks and hit batters. HFU had just four hits in the inning, the biggest a three-run home run to left to cap the eight-run frame.
• Georgian Court hit a home run of their own to start the second. Zinny Kemahu led off the inning with a solo homer to left to cut the lead to 8-1.
• The Tigers got the run back in the next half inning. There were three walks, three stolen bases and two errors in the innings and the Lions were fortunate HFU didn't add more, but Frankie Noviello's diving catch in the outfield ended the inning and stranded two in scoring position.
• GCU got back into the game with a four-run third. Arian Lunar and Oliver Santana hit consecutive doubles for the inning's first run.
JR Osmond had the big hit in the inning. A line drive two-run home run that just cleared the fence in left to make it a 9-5 game.
• A wild pitch brought Holy Family to 10 runs and a 10-5 lead in the fifth. They once again stranded two in scoring position as Noviello made a running grab in center to end the inning.
• GCU inched back even more in the fifth. They scored two runs on sacrifice flies to the warning track in right. The Lions had the tying run at the plate, but the runner at first was picked off to end the threat.
• Georgian Court threatened again in the sixth. They loaded the bases, but Holy Family coaxed a pop up to keep GCU scoreless in the inning.

Lion Stat Leaders
Brian Guzman reached base four times with three hits and a walk. He also scored twice, drove in a run and stole a base.
JR Osmond went 1-3 with a home run and drove in three runs.
Ryan Basham threw two scoreless innings allowing just a hit and striking out one.
Zinny Kemahu was hit by a pitch and homered.

• HFU excelled with runners on base, hitting .545, 12-22. Georgian Court was just 4-16 with runners in scoring position and 4-20 with runners on base.
• Georgian Court has stolen a base in six straight games and five of those six they stole at least two.

Up Next
• Georgian Court hopes to salvage the series tomorrow afternoon. They play a single nine-inning game at Holy Family in Philadelphia at 12 pm.
