JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (March 7, 2026) - Georgian Court baseball was climbing their way back from an early hole they found themselves in, but Mother Nature had other intentions. The Lions had scored five straight when rain came and forced the game to end after five and a half innings, 8-5 in favor of the Mountain Cats.
How it Happened
• UPJ scored eight runs on 14 hits in five innings. GCU scored five runs on five hits.
• Neither team made an error in the field.
• GCU left eight runners on base and the Mountain Cats stranded seven.
• The Lions had a patient approach the plate, walking seven times while GCU pitchers issued just one free pass.
• In the first, Pitt-Johnstown scored all eight of their runs. The big hit was a grand slam, making it a 6-0 game.
• UPJ picked up two more run-scoring hits in the inning and led 8-0 after one.
• The Lions comeback started an inning later.
JP Mahoney doubled to bring in
JR Osmond and get the Lions on the board.
• GCU scored two-more runs in the third and the fifth. Osmond and
Arian Lunar each had two-RBI hits, bringing the Lions to within three.
• Pitt-Johnston started the fourth loading the bases with nobody out, but three straight strikeouts ended the inning and left everyone stranded.
• After the top of the sixth is when the lightning and rain came and the game was called after five and a half.

• Tate Minch hit a grand slam in the first as part of a 2-3 day.
• Karson Reffner reached twice with a single and walk and drove in two runs.
