NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 29, 2026) - All season long, Georgian Court has been flooding the CACC weekly award winners. They outdid themselves this week, claiming six of the eight weekly spots and getting two more on the weekly Honor Roll.
Georgian Court swept the women's awards. It should come as no surprise
Daizhae' Brown was one of the weekly winners. She picked up her third award this season as she was named the Field Rookie of the Week. Brown competed in the long jump at the TCNJ Invitational where she took fifth and was the top Division II competitor jumping 18-1.Â
The other five all earned their first CACC weekly honor of the season, displaying the depth Georgian Court has amassed.
Adrianna Fodera was the Field Athlete of the week after setting personal-bests in the shot put and javelin. She took over the lead in the CACC in the shot put throwing 39-10.75 and is now second in the javelin with her new PR mark of 112-6.
GCU set a new school record on the track last week and it came from
Sophia Mauro. Mauro ran 4:51.30 and finished third in the event. That time also has her ranked third in the CACC as she was named the Track Rookie of the Week.
The Track Athlete of the Week honors went to
Shalom Adzakro. She set a new personal-best in the 100m hurdles running 15.29. That time ranks sixth in Lions history and is third in the conference.Â
On the men's side, they earned both their awards on the track.
Ryan Pettrow was the CACC Track Athlete of the Week. In the seeded 1500m, Pettrow ran 4:04.37 which is a season-best and has him ranked fifth in the conference. While this is Pettrow's first CACC weekly award, it is his second weekly honor of the 2025-26 season, as he also earned an ECC weekly award during the indoor season.
The Track Rookie of the Week went to
Brian Kutney who logged another strong race in the 110m hurdles. Kutney ran 15.37 and finished in ninth place in the event.
In addition to the six who earned a weekly award,
Guius Dabney and
Shona Mutokuto made the CACC weekly Honor Roll.
