NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 31, 2026) - Georgian Court Men's Soccer began their 2026 campaign last weekend with a pair of game's in Massachusetts. The Lions earned a pair of draws playing against No. 19 Bentley and Saint Michael's. Georgian Court's defense stood out over the weekend with
Tim Wilk leading the way and named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Defender of the Week.
The Lions season started with a 1-1 tie against No. 19 Bentley. Georgian Court held the Falcon's offense to just 14 shots and seven on goal. They needed to come from behind for a 2-2 draw with Saint Michael's. The Purple Knights made the most of their few opportunities, scoring twice on eight shots with three on goal.
Wilk not only played a hand on the defensive end, but led the comeback charge against St. Michael's. Wilk scored his first career goal, a header off a corner kick, cutting the Purple Knights' lead in half and getting the Lions on the board.
It's a week of firsts for Wilk who scored his first career goal and earns his first career CACC Defensive Player of the Week honor.
In addition to Wilk, Georgian Court's
Sander Rynning made the CACC Weekly Honor Roll. Rynning assisted on Wilk's goal and scored the equalizer against Saint Michael's for a three-point day.
Georgian Court hosts their first home game of 2026 this Thursday, Sept. 3 as the Lions host the College of Staten Island at 2 pm.
