The GCU Lions tennis squad, seeking its first victory since the season's first match on August 30th vs. Molloy College, dropped a 6-3 decision at Millersville (PA) University on Sunday. The team now owns a record of 1-6.
In singles competition, Brittany Aimone (So.-Toms River,NJ/Toms River North) broke a personal five-match singles winless streak with a victory over Millersville's Andrea Konas (7-5, 6-2). Aimone also tasted victory in doubles as she and Caitlyn Lawrence (Jr.-Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) dominated Konas and Jenny Habecker, 8-0.
Natalie Grieci (So.-Pt. Pleasant, NJ/Pt. Pleasant Boro), after losing the first set 0-6, fought all the way to defeat Habecker, 6-1, 6-4) in singles action.
The Lions look for their first road win of the year and to end a six-match losing streak when they travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday, 9/16, to take on division rival University of the Sciences at 3:00 PM.
