GCU Soccer Grabs OT Victory at Bloomsburg to Even Record at 3-3

BLOOMSBURG, PA- Sophomore Kelly Lyons buried a Becky Witmer pass with 2:06 remaining in the first overtime to break a scoreless tie  and secure a 1-0 triumph in a non-conference match Thursday evening at Bloomsburg University.

For Lyons, it was her team-leading seventh tally and third game-winner on the campaign. GCU netminder, Lindsay Hammond (pictured left) earned her second shutout, turning away nine shots from the opposition.

With the win, the Lions improve to 3-3 on the season and now own a modest two-game winning streak. Bloomsburg  falls to 2-3-1 overall.

The Lions look to make it three straight Saturday afternoon when they welcome the newest member of the CACC, Concordia College (1-3, 0-1), to Investors Savings Bank Field at 1:00 PM.
