LAKEWOOD, NJ- The GCU tennis team improved to 2-4 overall (2-1 CACC) and evened its home record at 2-2 with a 9-0 blanking of Caldwell College (0-4, 0-2) Tuesday afternoon at the Ellen Mullane Gallagher Tennis Center.
Junior
Brittany Aimone (pictured above) earned the victory in the #1 singles slot, dropping Caldwell College sophomore,
Olga Ndhlovu (Bergenfield, NJ), 6-1, 6-6 (8-7). Also garnering singles triumphs were
Natalie Grieci (4-6, 6-4, 12-10),
Caitlyn Lawrence (6-1, 6-0),
Alexus McClintic (6-0, 6-1) and
Sarah Lockenmeyer (6-0, 6-0).
In doubles action, Grieci and Lawrence teamed up to defeat the Caldwell duo of Ndhlovu and
Danielle Levasseur (Fr., Eastport, NY), 8-2. McClintic and
Victoria Gaffney took care of
Suzanne Dragovcic (Jr.-Barnegat, NJ) and
Brittni Frantellizzi (Sr.-Binghamton, NY), 8-3.
Caldwell also defaulted two matches.
The Lions take to the court again Thursday afternoon when they trek to Shippensburg University for a 3:30 PM match.
