LAKEWOOD, NJ- Reigning CACC Player of the Year Lauren Riiff’s (Jr.-Clementon, NJ) first goal of the season proved to be all Chestnut Hill College (3-1-1, 2-0 CACC) needed as the Griffins defeated host-Georgian Court University, 1-0, Tuesday afternoon on Investors Savings Bank Field.
Riiff found the upper left corner of the net from a nearly impossible angle on the right side of goal at 56:17 on an Amanda Botbyl (So.-Mays Landing, NJ) assist.
GCU goalkeeper Shealyn Sullivan collected two saves on nine shots in the defeat. The Lions mustered eight shots, three of which were saved by Griffins' keeper, Jessica Veazey (So.-Middletown, DE).
Georgian Court (1-2-1, 1-1 CACC) takes the pitch again this Saturday when Dominican College comes to town for a 1PM showdown.
