Orangeburg, NY- The Dominican College women's soccer team shut out the visiting Lions of Georgian Court University, 1-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) women's soccer game played on the DC Soccer Field. With the win, Dominican improves to 5-6-1 overall and 4-4-1 in the conference, while Georgian Court fall to 6-7 overall and 5-5 in the CACC. GCU, after winning a season-high five straight, has lost its last three contests.
Junior midfielder Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) netted the game winning goal at the 8:56 mark as she received a ball from Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) and took the shot from inside the six for the eventual 1-0 victory.
Dominican keeper Kaitlyn Hertz (Voorhees, NJ) made eight saves in the contest.
Georgian Court University outshot the Lady Chargers 16-8 and held a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lions return home to host NYIT in non-conference contest this Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
