LYNDHURST, N.J. – The Felician College softball team lost both ends of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference doubleheader to visiting Georgian Court University, 8-1 and 5-0, on Friday afternoon at Matera Field. Felician (10-20, 8-6 CACC) was limited to seven base hits on the day.

Georgian Court now owns a season-high five-game winning streak.

GCU (16-18, 8-4) jumped ahead early in the day’s opening game, scoring three runs on four hits in the top of the first inning. Felician got on the scoreboard on Grace Keller’s (Hoboken, NJ/Holy Family Academy) run-scoring groundout in the third, but Golden Falcon miscues helped lead to an unearned run for GCU in the fifth and four more in the seventh.

Lion senior Diana Sansevera (Manalapan, NJ/St. John Vianney) pitched a three-hitter, allowing no earned runs with six strikeouts. Teammates Rachel Ruch (Edison, NJ/Edison) and Brooke Hull (Nazareth, NJ/Nazareth Area) had three hits apiece. Freshman Tori Bradburn (Ridge, NJ/Great Mills) took the loss in the circle for Felician, allowing three earned runs on 11 hits in six innings.

Felician fell victim to a four-hit shutout by Lion junior Shannon Dukes (Peoria, AZ/Kellis) in Game 2. Dukes (7-5) has now won seven straight decisions after starting the year 0-5. GCU again put up a big inning, stringing together four straight hits after two were out to plate four runs in the third. Kelsey Cutler (Gloucester City, NJ/Gloucester) highlighted the rally with a two-run single.

Felician right-hander Kristen Tenwolde (Ramona, CA/Ramona) allowed 10 hits in a complete game effort, with five strikeouts. Ruch again went 3 for 4 and had six hits on the day. Freshman Carissa Trujillo (Fresno, CA/Edison) garnered a hit in each game for the Golden Falcons.

Georgian Court gets right back at it Saturday morning in a rematch of the 2010 CACC Championship Tournament finals as Dominican College travels to Lakewood for a doubleheader, commencing at 11:00 AM.
