Blaszka, Jackson Earn Academic Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (May 27, 2025) - Georgian Court Softball saw two student-athletes earn Academic Honors as Janelle Blaszka and Cheyenne Jackson made the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The CSC requires both academic and athletic standards to maintain to be eligible for the Academic All-District Team. Student-athletes must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and be of sophomore or high academic standing. On the field, they must have played in at least 90% of regular season competition or started 66% of all games. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. 

Blaszka is a junior from Beachwood, NJ. She has a 3.87 GPA in Psychology. Blaszka was once again the ace of the Lions pitching staff in 2025. She led GCU pitchers in all major categories. She finished the season at 11-9 with a 4.00 ERA in 120.2 innings pitched. She struck out 75 in 25 appearances and 20 starts, completing 13 games and tossing three shutouts. This season, Blaszka entered the GCU NCAA Division II era top-10 in wins, innings complete games, shutouts and strikeouts.

Jackson is in her sophomore season with the Lions. The shortstop from Delran, NJ has a 3.77 GPA and is also studying Psychology. Jackson was among the team leaders hitting .352 with a .422 on-base percentage and .555 slugging percentage. She smacked 13 doubles, two triples and three home runs while scoring 31 times and driving in 24. Jackson also led the Lions stealing 13 bases which put her in the Lions top-10 in steals during the NCAA-era.
