NEW CASTLE, DE- The Georgian Court University softball team split a CACC double-dip Saturday afternoon at Wilmington University in a doubleheader that was originally postponed by rain on April 12th. The Lions grabbed the opener, 4-3, before faltering in the nightcap, 3-0.
Wilmington University (24-19, 14-9 CACC) held a 3-0 lead entering the seventh inning in the opener until Georgian Court countered with a clutch four-spot on three hits and two critcal Wilmington errors in the final frame to steal the 4-3 triumph.
Diana Sansevera went the distance to improve to 11-5 on the campaign as she yielded three runs (2 ER) on six hits and a walk. The Lions' ace also K'd 10 Wildcats.

Jess Comiskey (1-for-4) provided a clutch two-run double in the seventh while 3B
Sammie Jo Garofalo went 3-for-4 at the dish, which included a double of her own.
Georgian Court (26-22, 18-6 CACC) could only muster four hits off Wilmington's
Katie Warrington (So.-Townsend, DE) as the Wildcats scored a run in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the sixth to solidify the 3-0 shutout.
Warrington (14-7) went the distance, walking none and striking out nine in the blanking. GCU's
Shannon Dukes dropped to 11-8 after allowing three runs on eight hits and zero walks in seven full frames. She also struck out four batters.
The Lions will next host first-place Concordia College Sunday afternoon in another crucial CACC doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
