Georgian Court Holds Out Hope for Regional Bid After Falling in CACC Final to Dominican

Rachel Ruch
LAKEWOOD, NJ- For the second consecutive season, the Georgian Court University softball squad advanced to the championship round of the CACC Tournament vs. Dominican College, again falling to the Lady Chargers this time by a 7-4 score. The #1-seed Lions defeated #5 Caldwell College earlier in the day by a 4-2 tally to eliminate the Cougars.

With the victory, the Lady Chargers (34-16) earn their second straight conference crown and the CACC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament, which commences next week. Georgian Court ( 31-24) still holds out hope for an at-large bid and a fifth consecutive trip to the "dance" when the field is announced Sunday evening.

Brooke Hull, Rachel Ruch and Diana Sansevera earned spots on this season's All-Tournament Team. Ruch had an incredible final two games of the tournament, going 4-for-6, with three home runs, three runs scored and four RBI.
