OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.  - Senior Natasha Arana (Island Park, N.Y.) scored the match's only goal to lift NYIT women's soccer to a 1-0 victory over Georgian Court Tuesday afternoon. With the win, the Bears improved to 5-7 on the season while the Lions dropped to 8-4-1 overall.

Arana scored in the 14th minute on an unassisted shot. She sent the ball over keeper Casey O'Connor's head and it bounced off the crossbar into the net. The Bears defense did a tremendous job to hold off the Lions advances for the win.

Defender turned goalkeeper Raquel Gonzales (Bellerose Terrace, N.Y.) earned her first collegiate win in her first collegiate start and appearance between the posts. She made three saves in the outing. The loss went to O'Connor (7-4-1), who made seven saves. NYIT out-shot Georgian Court 14-10.
