LAKEWOOD, NJ- The Georgian Court University soccer squad unleashed the fury in non-conference action Sunday afternoon with an 8-0 pummeling of visiting Lincoln University (4-6).
The contest featured five different goal scorers for the Lions (8-3-1), which not only included the first career tallies for
Denisha Thomas and
Megan Sherman, but also the first collegiate hat-trick for
Tori Capestro and a two-goal effort from #Carleigh Gorman#.
GCU held a 2-0 advantage at the intermission, courtesy of Gorman's first score of the day at 20:29 (Capestro assist) and Tori's first of three at 24:30 on a feed from

Capestro followed less than a minute later (58:17) for tally number two, clubbing a Gorman pass from about ten yards out. The Brick, N.J. native completed the triple-goal effort at 62:11 has she kicked a
Nicole Petrosino pass out of the air, snapping the nylon in the process.
Thomas, a fifth-year senior and arguably the most feared defender in the east region, took a
Farrell Pomponio pass all the way into the net for her first collegiate goal at 63:29.
Jennifer Molzon assisted on the final two scores, including Gorman's second score at 76:40 and Sherman's one-timer at 85:34.
