SHIPPENSBURG, PA- The Georgian Court University tennis team commenced the spring portion of it schedule Saturday morning with a quality 6-3 victory over Shippensburg University.
The Lions won two of the three doubles match on the day, including an 8-1 win in the #1 position by the tandem of Maria Leal and
Tatiana Villariny-Rodriguez and an 8-4 decision from the #2 pair of
Sarah Lockenmeyer and
Victoria Gaffney.
In singles play, Leal (6-1, 6-0), Gaffney (6-3, 3-6, 6-4), Villariny-Rodriguez (6-2, 6-4), and Lockenmeyer (6-0, 6-1) earned victories for the Lions.
GCU's next spring contest will be on Sunday at Molloy College.
