Bronxville, NY – The Concordia College softball team took on the Georgian Court University Lions in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Clippers could not get their offense going as they dropped both games, 8-1 and 6-1, for their seventh consecutive conference loss of the season.

GCU centerfielder Dara Schroeder swiped three stolen bases in the twin-bill, giving the freshman a share of the CACC season record of 37, originally established Justine Mateo of Felician College in 2010.

The Lions slugged 14 hits in Game One, including three apiece from 2B Rachel Ruch (3-for-4, 2 R, 2 RBI), 3B Kelsey Cutler (3-for-4, 2 R, RBI) and RF Selina Santillo (3-for-4, R, 2 RBI). Ruch blasted her second home run of the week, a solo shot, in the third inning.

Brooke Hull (17-9) won her fifth contest of the week, allowing a lone run on eight hits and a walk in seven innings of work. The GCU ace also struck out a batter.

Georgian Court (23-15), winners of 10 straight CACC contests, raked 10 more hits in the nightcap as the Lions cruised to the 6-1 triumph.  Schroeder went 3-for-4 with three runs scored in the lead-off spot while Ruch capped off an impressive afternoon with another 3-for-4 performance.

Hull improved to 6-0 on the week and 18-9 on the season with another complete-game effort, as the senior scattered three hits and struck out two in seven innings.

The Clippers  fall to 8-15 (5-11 CACC) on the year.
