Taylor Reinecke, during the program's annual Senior Day celebration Tuesday afternoon on Investors Savings Bank Field.
The Lions proceeded to drop a hard-fought 1-0 decision to visiting Holy Family University (9-5-3, 8-1-3 CACC), giving the Tigers the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference regular season title and the #1 overall seed in next week's championship tournament. GCU dips to 10-5-3 on the season (8-2-2 CACC) and solidifies the #3 seed and a home game in the quarterfinals next Tuesday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m.
Holy Family netted its lone goal early in the first half (9:29) when
Ursula Coyle (Fr.-Philadelphia, Pa.) one-timed a
MaryKate Morris (Jr.-Philadelphia, Pa.) corner kick. For Coyle, the goal marked her fifth of the season. The Tigers dominiated Georgian Court in the shot column, owning a 20-6 advantage.
Sienna Smith (Fr.-Pottsville, Pa.) earned the win in the HFU net, collecting three saves in the effort. Casey O'Connor was tagged with the defeat, tallying nine saves on the afternoon.
