Waterbury, Conn.- The Georgian Court University women's tennis squad improved to 3-7 (3-5 CACC) Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 shutout at Post University.
The GCU duos of
Melissa Dennis and Maria Leal
and Kayanna Chandler
and Annmarie Wodell
earned 8-0 victories in the 1 and #2 positions, respectively. In the #3 slot,
Heather Jensen and Brittany McLaughlin# solidified an 8-4 win. For McLaughlin, it was her first action this season.
In singles play, Chandler took home a 6-1, 6-1 win in #1 play while Wodell, in the #2 spot, won by a 6-0, 6-2 score. Dennis (#3),
Meredith Hoffman (#4) and Jensen (#5) each sported 6-0, 6-0 victories. McLaughlin, playing in the #6 hole, achieved a 6-0, 6-1 win.
With Thursday's match vs. Millersville University already postponed due to expected to rain. the Lions will not return to the court until Saturday afternoon with a 1:00 p.m. contest at Ramapo College.
