Philadelphia, Pa.- The Georgian Court University women's tennis squad secured its first victory of the 2013 campaign Tuesday afternoon, a 7-2 road decision over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe University of the Sciences.

The Lions (1-4, 1-3 CACC) opened the match winning two of three doubles contests. In the #2 position , Kayanna Chandler and Annmarie Wodell defeated the USciences tandem of Andira Dang and Alexis Vidal, 8-0. Teammates Meredith Hoffman and Heather Jensen, coming off stellar performances at last weekend's Wilson/ITA Regionals, coasted to an 8-1 win in the #3 slot vs.Tea Cadenovic and Marysa Kamleu.

GCU proceeded to win five of six singles contests to coast to the key conference win. Chander (#2, 6-1, 6-1); Wodell (#3, 6-1, 6-0); Melissa Dennis (#4, 6-2, 6-1); Hoffman (#5, 6-4, 6-2) and Jensen (#6, 6-2, 6-2) each solidified straight-set victories, dropping the Devils to 1-6 (1-3 CACC) in the process.

Georgian Court stays on the road for its next outing, a non-conference affair Thursday afternoon at West Chester University. Start time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
