Lafayette Hill, Pa. – From the opening kick each side took turns serving balls downfield, but it was Georgian Court University that eventually broke the Chestnut Hill College defenses for a 3-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) win. The Griffins attacked from all angles, spreading 13 shots among eight players, none taking more than two.

Sophomore midfielder Danielle Spinuzza (Williamstown, N.J.) made some early runs and junior goalkeeper Samantha Pauls (South Plainfield, N.J.) stopped the first couple Georgian Court University (4-1-1, 4-0-1) shots, but after the first goal at 29:01, 1-0, and a unlucky goal at 39:04, Chestnut Hill College (1-4-1, 1-1-1) found themselves facing a 2-0 halftime deficit. Unfortunately, the Lions favor continued in the second half as they extended their lead to 3-0 on a corner kick at 57:17 and limited the Griffins to only five second-half shots.

Junior forward Taylor Mize was the Lions primary shooter with six shots and the Lions third goal, which came off the corner serve from graduate midfielder Taylor Reinecke, who scored their first goal on a settle and strike from the top of the Griffin goal box. Freshman forward Tuere Chisholm-Thomas scored the second goal, putting just enough on the ball for it to trickle between Pauls' hands. Sophomore goalkeeper Casey O'Connor made three saves in the win (4-1-1).

Spinuzza, senior forward Marykate McShane (Lebanon, Pa.), senior defender Lauren Nolte (Wilmington, Del.), senior defender Stephanie Litty (Marlton, N.J.) and junior forward Kelly McKenna (Dover, Del.) all took two shots at the Lion goal, while three others each offered a shot in the Griffins offensive effort. Pauls totaled six saves in the loss (1-4-1).

GCU returns home for another CACC contest as the Lions take on Felician College Saturday afternoon at 12:00 p.m.
