Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University Women's Tennis squad succumbed to visiting Holy Family University, 8-1, Saturday afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action in GCU's Ellen Mullane Gallagher Tennis Center.
The Tigers improve to 3-3 overall (3-2 CACC) on the year while the Lions drop to 1-6 with a 1-4 conference mark.
Melissa Dennis secured Georgian Court's lone victory of the afternoon with a 6-1, 7-5 triumph over Holy Family's
Steicy Castro (Sr.-London, England) in #4 singles play. Dennis increases her team-leading singles record to 4-3 on the season.
Dennis and teammate Maria Leal suffered a difficult loss in #1 doubles, dropping a 9-8 (9-7) decision to the Holy Family tandem of
Emerald Adams (Fr.-White Plains, Md.) and
Anastasiya Kolodiy (Fr.-Lvov, Ukraine).
The Lions return to action Wednesday afternoon with a CACC road contest at Caldwell College. Start time is set for 4:00 p.m.
