Philadelphia, Pa. - Redshirt senior
Khiry Hankins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day School) scored a season-high 30 points to help lead the Holy Family University men's basketball team to a 95-57 victory over visiting Georgian Court University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest on Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center Gymnasium.
Holy Family, winners of five straight games, improves to 13-5 overall and 7-2 in the CACC, while Georgian Court is now 2-14 overall and 0-9 in conference action.
Hankins supplied the Tigers with plenty of offense as he shot 10-of-15 from the field and 7-of-12 from deep range to finish with a game-high 30 points. He also recorded four steals on defense. Sophomore
Isaiah Gans (Philadelphia, Pa./Redemption Christian Academy) also finished in double-figures with 15 points (7-12 FG) to go along with six rebounds.
Junior
Brian Patterson (New Haven, Conn./Hillhouse) (4-6 FG) totaled 11 points and five rebounds to go along with four blocks on defense. Senior
Alberto Munoz (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) added nine points and six rebounds, while fellow classmate
Ervin Ezell (Deptford, N.J./Deptford High) filled the stat sheet with nine points, five rebounds, a game-high six assists and five steals.
For Georgian Court, junior
Jordan Wejnert led the Lions with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. Wejnert also dished out three assists and grabbed six rebounds. Freshman
Keith Hughes added 14 points (5-10 FG), while fellow classmate
Jonte Rutty added 12 points and six boards.
Holy Family controlled the game from beginning to end as the Tigers mounted a 20-point advantage late in the first half. A three-pointer by Hankins at the 3:52 mark gave Holy Family a 50-30 lead. The Tigers scored 54 points on their way to a 54-35 halftime lead.
In the first half, Holy Family connected on half its shots from the field (21-42) and were lights out from three-point range. The Tigers shot 11-of-25 from beyond the arc in the half and finished the game with 14 total three-pointers; one shy of the team's season-high.
The Tigers biggest lead came on the final score of the game as senior
Ben Savidge (Reading, Pa./Exeter) capped the scoring with a layup with 1:13 to play in the game. The Tigers defeated the Lions by a 38-point margin.
