Old Westbury, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer team headed out of conference Sunday afternoon as the Lions played to a scoreless tie at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). The 0-0 stalemate is the Lions' first since October 18, 2008 in a non-conference home game vs. Molloy College.
GCU sees its record move to 5-3-1 while NYIT goes to 1-5-2 on the year.
Casey O'Connor (Jr.-Toms River, N.J.) kept the Bears scoreless over 110:00, collecting five saves in the process. NYIT's
Victoria Barclay tallied 13 saves in the complete-game effort. GCU outshot the home team by more than a 2-to-1 margin, attempting 32 shots vs.15 for NYIT.
The Lions return home to host Lincoln University in non-conference play this Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
