Philadelphia, Pa. - After 110 minutes of action it still wasn't enough to decide a winner so the Holy Family University women's soccer team and Georgian Court University entered a penalty kick shootout in the quarterfinal round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on Monday afternoon at RAMP Playground in Northeast Philadelphia.  The Lions went on to defeat the Tigers in the penalty shot round, 5-3, after finishing regulation and two overtimes tied at 2-2.

Holy Family, seeded third in this year's tournament, concludes its season at 10-5-1, while Georgian Court, seeded sixth, is now 10-5-4 overall.  The Lions will now face second-seeded Post University in the semifinals on Thursday.

The Tigers found themselves trailing 2-0 within the first 15 minutes of the first half.  Georgian Court scored in the 12th and 16th minutes to open up the scoring. Rachel Marino (Jr.-Brick, N.J.) tallied her first goal of the season at the 11:50 mark, while CACC Rookie of the Year Lizzy Kroon (Fr.-Bayside, N.J.) doubled the lead with her team-leading 11th goal of the year at 15:02.

However, Holy Family quickly responded less than two minutes later when junior Jenna Richards (Croydon, Pa./Conwell Egan) scored her first of two scores on the afternoon.  Richards received a cross pass from sophomore Ursula Coyle (Philadelphia, Pa./Little Flower) to connect on her second goal of the season to make the score 2-1 in the 17th minute.

The score remained 2-1 heading into halftime and the second half until Richards came through with her second goal of the game.  She picked up the game-tying goal in the 62nd minute with Coyle assisting on the play.

Both teams were held scoreless in the two overtime periods forcing a penalty kick shootout.  Georgian Court went on to convert all five of its attempts, while the Tigers finished the shootout 3-of-4.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sienna Smith (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Regional) finished the game with eight saves in net for the Tigers after facing 21 shots by the Lions.  Her counterpart, junior Casey O'Connor (Toms River, N.J.) finished with five saves after 17 shots attempted by the Tigers.

The Lions will now take on #2 Post University Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in Waterbury, Conn. after the Eagles defeated #7 Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0. Georgian Court tied Post, 1-1, back on October 18 in the Nutmeg State.
