Clermont, Fla. - After a day off yesterday, the Georgian Court University continued the momentum from Tuesday's initial victory of the season with a 9-0, five-inning shutout over the Knights of Queens College Thursday morning at the NTC Spring Games in the Sunshine State.
The Lions' second contest of the morning, this time vs. Southern Connecticut State University, was cancelled due to rain.

With rain coming down at a steady clip, GCU put the game out of hand with a seven-spot in the home half of the fourth inning. The Lions sent 12 batters to the dish in the frame, one that consisted of five errors, five wild pitches, two hits, two illegal pitches, and a passed ball.
Deanna Daluise (1-3) went the distance for Georgian Court to earn her first victory of 2014. The senior permitted just two hits and walk, while striking out five in the complete-game shutout.
Queens'
Isabelle Yaroch was tagged with the loss, allowing eight runs (3 ER) on three hits, five walks, and four wild pitches. She also struck out two batters.
With today's rain out, Georgian Court next takes to the diamond Friday morning with contests vs. The College of St. Rose (9:00 a.m.) and Cedarville (Ohio) University at 11:00 a.m.
