Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University softball squad increased its season-long winning streak to nine games and improved to a stellar 12-1 record vs. Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foes with a sweep of Philadelphia University Sunday afternoon, 9-1 (5 inn.) and 4-1. The streak marks the Lions' longest since winning 11 straight in April 2012.
Georgian Court owns an 18-12 overall record and currently is tied with Caldwell College (19-2, 9-1 CACC) with one conference loss apiece. With the defeats, Philadelphia drops to 15-7 (6-6 CACC).

McDonough blasted her sixth home run in the fourth frame, a two-run shot, to provide the Lions with 7-1 lead. GCU walked off the Lady Rams in the bottom of the fifth after a

Abby Merryman improved to 7-3 on the year after permitting one run on six hits and a walk (4 K).
Nicole Troisi suffered the defeat after yielding five runs (3 ER) on five hits (1 K) in only 1.2 innings pitched.
McDonough (3-for-3, 4 RBI, 2 R), Molino (2-for-3, 2 R) and Schroeder (2-for-3) all enjoyed multi-hit efforts.
GAME TWOGCU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second, highlighted by a Smith ribbie single to center. The lead increased to 3-zip in the third after a run-scoring miscue by Philadelphia. The fourth and final run came in to score in the fifth frame after McDonough's fifth RBI of the afternoon, a single up the middle.
Deanna Daluise earned her CACC-leading ninth victory (9-6) in the outing, permitting one run (0 ER) on nine hits while striking out a season-best nine batters.
Kasia Smith to the loss for the Lady Rams, allowing four runs (2 ER) on seven hits and a free pass (2 K) over six innings.
Georgian Court returns to action Wednesday with a CACC home twin-bill vs. Wilmington University. Start time is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
