Garden City, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University softball squad, making its first appearance in the NCAA East Regionals since 2010, fell to fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member, Caldwell College, by a 6-0 score in the opening game for both Friday afternoon at Adelphi University.

Amber Padilla (So.-Chino, Calif.) permitted six runs on five hits and two walks, while striking out five in the victory.
Abby Merryman (Fr.-Sewell, N.J.) fell to 12-8 for the Lions, yielding six runs (5 ER) on nine hit and walk in 3.1 innings pitched.

Dara Schroeder (Jr.-Bordentown, N.J.) tallied two of the Lions' hits with a 2-for-4 effort at the plate.
GCU (31-23) now takes on No. 3 seed Adelphi University Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. as the Panthers fell to No. 4 Queens College, 5-0, in Friday's opener. The Knights no-hit Adelphi in the victory.
