Lions Suffer First CACC Setback of Year with 1-0 Loss to Visiting Holy Family

Lakewood, N.J.- A first-half penalty kick proved to be the difference Tuesday afternoon as visiting Holy Family University escaped Investors Savings Bank Field with a 1-0 road victory over Georgian Court University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer action.

The win improves the Tigers to 5-3 (4-1 CACC) while the Lions drop to 4-2 on the year with a 3-1 mark in conference play.

The lone tally came in the 37th minute (36:15) of action when HFU's Kimber Kisselback (Sr.-Langhorne, Pa.) netted her fifth goal of the season, a penalty kick, after an untimely infraction by the GCU defense. The Lions outshot the Tigers, 14-12, and owned a hefty 5-1 advantage when it came to corner kicks, but the home team was unsuccessful in breaking up the shutout and forcing overtime action.

Kacie Booth (So.-Maple Shade, N.J.) was credited with the shutout for Holy Family after collecting six saves in 90:00. Casey O'Connor (Jr.-Toms River, N.J.) experienced her first defeat in the GCU net this year, yielding the goal and tallying two saves in the complete game.

Georgian Court will have to wait until Saturday to redeem themselves when the Lions host Felician College on Homecoming Day. The CACC match will commence at noon in GCU's Track & Field complex.
