Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad suffered its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) defeat Saturday afternoon as the Lions fell to visiting Felician College, 4-2.

GCU dips to 4-3 (3-2 CACC) after the setback while the Golden Falcons, winners of two straight, improve to 4-2-2 (3-1-1 CACC).

Homecoming Day got off to a grand start for the home team as freshman Lizzy Kroon (Bayville, N.J.) provided the Lions an initial 1-0 lead (12:27) after controlling a Morgan Peacock (So.-Edison, N.J.) pass and dribbling around a sliding Felician keeper for the easy tap-in, her 5th goal of the year.

Things changed in a hurry for Georgian Court as the Golden Falcons proceeded to rattle off three unanswered goals to take a commanding 3-1 advantage. Amanda Nowak (Fr.-Lyndhurst, N.J.) tied the affair at 1-1 with her scoring effort at 33:47, followed by Stephanie Hesse's (So.-Lincoln Park, N.J.) go-ahead tally at 43:03. Nowak ended the Felcian scoring spurt at 52:08 when she found the back of the net for the second time of the day on a Macki Groves (Jr.-Millville, N.J.) assist.

Peacock put the Lions to within one at 3-2 after scoring her team-leading sixth goal of the year at 64:03, but the comeback was not meant to be as local product Marissa Nieves (Jr.-Brick, N.J.) sealed the victory with a nifty header at 72:46, courtesy of a Carly Brantner (So.-Waldwick, N.J.) feed.

The Lions owned a slight 19-16 shot advantage while attempting five more corner kicks (8-3).

Felician netminder Julia Sheridan (Jr.-Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) collected nine saves en route to her fourth win of the season (4-2-2). Casey O'Connor (Jr.-Toms River, N.J.) denied seven FC shots in the complete-game effort as her record slips to 4-2.

Georgian Court next takes the field this Wednesday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for CACC action. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
