Flushing, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University softball team was unable to snap its slide Sunday afternoon as the Lions suffered losses of 8-3 and 4-0 in a non-conference twin-bill at Queens College.
GCU, losers of nine straight, now have a record of 1-17 while the Knights improve to 6-7 on the year.
GAME ONEA three-run second inning put the visiting Lions ahead, 3-0. Unfortunately, GCU could not hold on as Queens countered with four-spots in the home-half of both the fifth and sixth innings to swipe the lead and, eventually, the victory.
Monique Roberge (Sr.-New Hyde Park, N.Y.) went the distance for Queens (7.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 3H, 10 K) to earn the win. GCU starting pitcher

Dara Schroeder earned two of the Lions' three hits in the game and drove in two of the three GCU runs.
GAME TWOThe Knights plated three runs in the first and an additional tally in the second as Queens proceeded to coast to the 4-0 victory in the finale.
ToniMarie Valeriano (Fr.-Bellmore, N.Y.) threw six shutout frames (7 K) for the Knights to secure the "W".
Katie Sorochka suffered the defeat for the Lions in a complete-game effort.

Alycia Marsello accounted for all of the Lions' offensive output with two hits apiece.
Georgian Court kicks off the CACC slate of its schedule Tuesday afternoon with a home conference double-dip vs. University of the Sciences beginning at 3:00 PM.
