Lakewood, N.J.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad, after Friday's 4-0 blanking of Concordia College, secured first-place and its second straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) regular-season crown! The Lions now own the top-seed in next week's CACC Championship Tournament as GCU will play host to #8 Felician University (7-7-2) this Monday (2:00 p.m.) in the quarterfinals.

In today's contest, the Lions (12-4-1, 9-2-1 CACC) took an immediate 1-0 lead just 2:05 into the game when Lizzy Kroon executed a cheeky flick of a Lauren Mendez cross, resulting in Kroon's sixth tally of the year. The slim GCU lead would increase in the second stanza when the Mendez-Kroon connection made an encore performance just 2:02 into the period. Mendez headed a feed to Kroon who then clubbed it off the crossbar and into the net for the score.

Tayler Bramley and Michaella Paradiso added some toppings to the GCU sundae with tallies just 50 seconds apart. Bramley sent in a Morgan LaDuca free kick at 66:31 for her team-leading eighth goal of the season before the senior switched roles and distributed the helper that Paradiso popped in at 67:21 for her second goal of the year.

The Lions outshot the Clippers, 26-2, and blanked the opposition regarding corner kicks, 6-0.

Natalie Axelsson moves to 12-4-1 in the Georgian Court net, earning the win after securing two saves over 80:41.

GCU last played Felician University back on September 17, defeating the Golden Falcons on the road by a 2-0 margin. The two clubs previously met in the postseason back in the 2002 CACC Championship Game when the Lions defeated Felician, 5-0, for the tournament title.
