Women's Soccer Settles for Scoreless Stalemate in Conference Contest at Post

Waterbury, Conn.- The Georgian Court University women's soccer squad trekked to the Nutmeg State Saturday afternoon to take on Post University in a highly-anticipated Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) battle.

After 120:00 of nail-biting competition, the match would end in a 0-0 draw, the Lions' first tie of the season (7-3-1, 6-1-1 CACC) and first scoreless stalemate since October 21 of last year at Philadelphia University.

GCU dominated the Eagles (4-5-1, 4-3-1 CACC) with a 17-8 advantage in the shots column (and a 5-2 surplus from the corners), but the visitors could not squeeze a tally past Post goalkeeper, Cailah Baranowski (Naugatuck, Conn.). The sophomore shot-stopper registered 11 saves in the hard-fought tie. Georgian Court's Natalie Axelsson garnered five saves in the marathon match.

The Lions move to non-conference action this Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home game vs. Queens College.
