Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's lacrosse squad took to the road for the first time Tuesday afternoon as the Lions traveled to #15 Mercy College, falling to the Mavericks by a score of 17-5.
Mercy (2-0) blanked the visitors, 6-0, in the opening period before coasting into intermission ahead, 10-2. Â GCU (0-2) managed three tallies in the third stanza before being shut out in the fourth, 3-0.
Joseph Ramirez registered two goals for Georgian Court, giving the freshman three scores in the Lions' first two contests.
Michael Negrete also poured in two goals for GCU while
Cory Boyle added a tally of his own.
Logan Eisenhart garnered 10 saves in 56:00 in the Georgian Court net.
The Lions will next take the field on Wednesday, March 2 when they welcome Molloy College to Georgian Court. Start time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
