Lakewood, N.J.- Southern New Hampshire University journeyed from the Granite State to the Garden State Saturday afternoon as the visiting Penmen dismissed host-Georgian Court University, 23-9, in NCAA Division II men's lacrosse competition.
SNHU (1-2) collected its first triumph of the young season while the Lions (0-6) were unable to concoct the proper theriac to get GCU into the win column for the first time in 2016.
The Penmen scripted a solid offensive attack, blotting the scoreboard with the first 10 tallies of the contest.
Joseph Ramirez broke the Lions' scoreless stretch by providing GCU's first scoring effort with 9:59 left in the first half.
After coming out of intermission carrying a 15-2 deficit, GCU righted the ship somewhat in the second half by being outscored by a slim 7-6 margin.
Michael Brawley (So.-Tewksbury, Mass.) earned the win in the SNHU net, collecting five saves in 25:00.
Logan Eisenhart was tagged with the loss, garnering four saves in 41:31. The Penmen outshot the the Lions, 42-33.
Cameron Joyce (Sr.-Braintree, Mass.) scripted a solid offensive day for SNHU, compiling four goals and four assists.Â

Ryder Verdoni obtained a hat trick for the Lions while Tyler registered a game-high 18 face-off wins and 11 groundballs.
Georgian Court returns to action Wednesday afternoon when the Lions host Franklin Pierce University at 3:30 p.m.
