Garden City, N.Y.- Adelphi University enjoyed a come-from-behind, 5-4 triumph in the opener and cruised to an easy 8-0, six-inning victory in the nightcap as the host-Panthers sent visiting Georgian Court University home with nothing to show for its efforts in Tuesday's softball sweep over the Lions in NCAA Division II east regional action.
GCU, after splitting its first two series since returning north from Florida, drops to 2-18 on the year while Adelphi climbs to 10-8 overall.

Kelly Hardiman. Georgian Court doubled its surplus in the third frame by making it 4-0 visitors with
JoLei Buonanno contributing a ribbie single of her own.
Adelphi would make it a 4-3 game with one swing of the bat in the bottom half of the third, courtesy of a three-run dinger to left from 3B

Krista King (So.-Franklin Square, N.Y.) surged the Panthers past GCU in the run column, leaving the Lions in the rearview mirror.
Victoria Wink improved to 3-3 with the Adelphi victory, yielding four runs (4 ER) on nine hits and two walks over 5.0 IP.
Nicole Camera (So.-Metuchen, N.J.) was picture-perfect in relief, developing two solid frames of work for the save.
Angela Lakatos (1-5) went four innings in the GCU start (5 R, 4 ER, 11 H, BB).

The pitching of the Panthers made GCU's hitters look like golems in the nightcap as Wink (4-3) and
Jessica Vadala (Fr.-Garden City Park, N.Y.) combined to two-hit the Lions in the shutout effort.
Adelphi bookended the scoreboard with a three-spot in the first and sixth innings, while the Panthers also plated two in the second to round out the 8-0 victory.
Jessica O'Neil (0-7) still seeks her first win in the circle for the Lions.
Georgian Court returns to CACC competition this Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader at always-difficult Dominican College.
