Box Score Hillburn, N.Y.- The Georgian Court University men's lacrosse squad waited until its tenth contest a year ago for its first taste of victory. The Lions would experience the savoring splendor in only game two of the 2017 campaign as GCU bested host-Dominican College, 8-5, in Sunday action.
Georgian Court (1-1) achieves redemption vs. the Chargers (0-1) after falling to Dominican at home, 9-4, on opening day of last season (2/20/16).
The home team struck first in the scoring column to take a 2-0 lead with 11:17 remaining in the first quarter. The Lions' roared back with three straight tallies of their own to possess a 3-2 advantage heading into intermission.
Dominican would even the affair at 4-4 after netting two of the first three goals in the third quarter. With 1:10 left in the frame,
Michael Saladino's second scoring effort of the afternoon would kick-start a 4-0 surge, providing the Lions with a formidable 8-4 surplus with 9:42 to go in regulation.
Saladino, making his season debut for GCU, paced the Lions with his two goals and two assists.

Brandon Razler each contributed a goal and a helper while
Connor Houghton,
Tanner Lee and
Ryder Verdoni ripped one goal apiece.
Austin Geissel improved to 1-1 in the Lions' net as the freshman goalkeeper registered 16 saves in the complete-game victory.
GCU now returns to host the University of the District of Columbia this Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
